Our San Remo Beachside Home project was recognised for its innovation and quality, making it an award-winning project we’re incredibly proud of.
This award wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our team, and we’d like to sincerely thank the Australian Glass & Window Association (AGWA) for this recognition. We’re also grateful to have been in such great company, competing alongside some truly impressive businesses.
A Closer Look at the San Remo Beachside Home Retrofit
The San Remo Beachside Home has been a cherished family getaway for over 30 years, situated just south of Perth with stunning ocean views. Over time, the home began to show the effects of constant exposure to coastal winds, salt, and sand. The homeowner wanted to restore and protect the property while maintaining its charm and adding to its functionality.
WA Custom Glass was brought in to address several key issues:
- Weatherproofing
- Increasing privacy
- Reducing maintenance
- Modernising the look of the facade.
Years of exposure had worn down the windows and doors, making them difficult to operate and prone to leaks.
We used grey toughened glass across the facade for improved privacy and energy efficiency, while custom sub-tray sills ensured no water buildup, providing a seamless, no-leak finish. Awning windows were installed to allow ventilation year-round and reduce dust and sand buildup, while large fixed windows maximised the stunning ocean views.
